Advantages of authorization concepts
Maintain authorization objects more easily
In the Output pane, you can view the change documents of a remote subsidiary system, or in the Selection Criteria pane, you can restrict the change documents for the central system (transmit system) or only for specific daughter systems. In the lower part, you can select the distribution parameters that you are interested in changing. The evaluation includes information about all changes in the ZBV configuration and in the attached subsidiary systems, as of the time the corresponding release or support package was inserted into the systems. In addition to the date, time and modifier, the evaluation also contains information about the respective model view, the status of the configured system and the action taken (old value and new value). In our example, you will see changes that have occurred in the SCUA transaction, such as creating a model view and adding subsidiary systems, changes made in the SCUG transaction, such as the user adoption, and changes to the distribution parameters in the SCUM transaction.

To define the proposed values for the new transaction, use the transaction SU24_S_TABU_NAM. In the selection mask, you can either enter your new Z transaction, or you can enter the SE16 transaction in the Called TA search box. This will search for all parameter transactions that use the SE16 transaction. In the result list, you will find all parameter transactions that use the SE16 transaction as the calling transaction. The last two columns indicate whether the S_TABU_DIS or S_TABU_NAM authorization objects have suggestion values maintained in the SU24 transaction.
Archive change document management for user and permission management
Users can activate or deactivate processes without affecting other processes. For example, they can activate Succession & Development without affecting position management in Employee Central. With the help of the tool, users always know for what purpose a particular user has been given a particular permission. Basic authorizations, which are identical for every user, are only stored once in a platform role. This ensures that system performance remains optimal.

The specific SAP_NEW authorization object imprints are provided via the SAP_BASIS component. Therefore, an SAP_NEW profile is always bound to a specific base release. Proceed as follows: With the transaction SU02, you remove all old, individual profiles from the SAP_NEW composite profile, including the profile that belongs to the start release of your upgrade. Now assign the reduced SAP_NEW permission profile to all users in the upgrade preparation system, ensuring that all users can work as usual. This step can be omitted if you are following another method to identify missing permissions. Now check all permissions in all remaining profiles within the SAP_NEW summary profile that have a higher release level than the SAP_BASIS upgrade start release. Map all required permissions to all productive roles in your permission concept. You can do this for each intermediate release individually. The next step is to adjust the permissions in your productively used roles in the PFCG transaction, and then remove the corresponding permissions from the SAP_NEW profile using the SU02 transaction. Repeat steps 3 through 4 until the SAP_NEW permission profile is empty. Work in a development system during the role adjustment phase and transport the adjustments made to your eligibility roles to your quality assurance system. After successful acceptance test, you transport them to the production system. Now you can remove the SAP_NEW profile from all users. You can then proceed with role follow-up as part of the release change in the SU25 transaction (see also Tip 43, "Customise Permissions After an Upgrade").

Assigning a role for a limited period of time is done in seconds with "Shortcut for SAP systems" and allows you to quickly continue your go-live.

SAP Basis is the foundation of any SAP system. You can find a lot of useful information about it on this page: www.sap-corner.de.

You can do this in the transaction SCUG and transfer user data from the subsidiary system to the central system.

The freeware Scribble Papers puts an end to the confusing paper chaos. The tool is also suitable for storing, structuring and quickly finding text documents and text snippets of all kinds in addition to notes.

The display of these settings, e.g. via the SCC4 or SE06 transactions, is not in itself critical; However, this has previously required permissions that are not usually assigned to the group of people just described.
