The authorization check for the authorization objects PS_RMPSORG and PS_RMPSOEH runs as follows following a user entry: The system determines the organizational unit to which the user is assigned. Starting from this organizational unit, the system creates a list of all organizational units that are superior to the organizational unit determined in the first step in the hierarchy. The system determines the set (M1) of all organizational objects that are assigned to these organizational units. The system determines the organizational unit to which the object to be processed is assigned (corresponds to the lead organizational unit in the attributes of the object to be processed). Starting from this lead organizational unit, the system creates a list of all organizational units that are superior to the determined organizational unit within the hierarchy. The system determines the set (M2) of all organizational objects assigned to these organizational units. The system forms the intersection (from M1 and M2) of the matching organizational objects of the user and the object to be processed. The system determines the organizational levels that match for the user and the object being processed. Once a matching organizational level is found, the system performs the authorization check for the other fields of the authorization object (e.g., type of object or activity); if the system cannot determine a common organizational level, processing is rejected. If the user is allowed to perform the requested activity, processing is allowed; otherwise, the system rejects processing.

Define critical permission combinations that cannot be assigned in the monitored systems. A whitelist allows you to specify which users (such as emergency users) you want to exclude from the evaluation. Identify vulnerabilities in the configuration of your RFC interfaces, i.e. RFC connections, where users with extensive permissions (e.g., the SAP_ALL profile) are registered. These RFC connections can be used for the so-called RFC-Hopping, where access to an SAP system is made via such an extensively authorised RFC connection.
THE "TOP SEVEN"
Some queries are also a bit complicated with the SUIM transaction. With SAP Query, you can quickly assemble queries that enable individual and more complex data evaluations. Do you want to know quickly which valid users currently have a modified access to a particular table, or what roles are users granted permission for a particular transaction? The SAP standard tool, the user information system, is an excellent solution for this type of data retrieval. However, at the latest during the next review, targeted queries with data combinations - and thus several SUIM query sequences - must be delivered within a short time. SAP queries can facilitate this task. An SAP Query is essentially a clear way to scan tables for specific data away from the SE16 transaction. There is the possibility to link multiple tables (join), which makes multiple SE16 queries just one SAP query. For example, if you want to know what roles users are entitled to perform the SCC4 transaction, you can use the SUIM transaction to query to determine which users can perform the transaction and view the roles that enable it in another query, but there is no result that shows both.

Our example role MODELING makes it clear that it is possible to assign different types of privilege to a role. The SAP HANA Studio shows you in the administration interface which user (the so-called grantor) has assigned the respective privilege to this role (granted). By filtering and sorting, you can optimise the appearance of the role content. Depending on the type of privilege, you will be presented with the appropriate details by selecting an entry.

Authorizations can also be assigned via "Shortcut for SAP systems".
