Efficient SAP rollout through central, tool-supported management
Create permissions for customising
In addition to existing authorization objects, you can also create your own authorization objects and select existing authorization fields such as Activity (ACTVT). To the individual fields then, as with ACTVT, the permissible options which are deposited at the field can be specified. Thus, for an own authorization object with the authorization field ACTVT, the activity 01 Add or Replace, 02 Change and 03 Display can be selected and would then be available as a selection in the authorization field in the role maintenance.

However, the authorization trace is not active by default, but must be explicitly activated via the profile parameter "auth/authorization_trace". In transaction RZ11 you can easily and quickly check if the parameter is already set. The profile parameter is set in transaction RZ10. By default, the profile parameter is active in SAP systems (profile parameter transport/systemtype = SAP) and inactive in customer systems (profile parameter transport/systemtype = CUSTOMER).
Even if key users (department users/application support) do not have to develop their own authorization objects and cooperation with SAP Basis is always advantageous, there are often technical questions such as "Which users have authorization to evaluate a specific cost center or internal order?
This type of programming makes sense if large amounts of data have to be read. Before starting to read the data from the database, a DUMMY check can be used to quickly determine whether the user is authorized to access part of the data. However, as can be seen from the table above, a code must not only be secured by a general check, but must be supplemented by later, detailed checks. However, even in this context space (or ' ') does not need to be explicitly authorized.

We recommend you to transport all these changes. Basically, you should always make changes to organisation levels on your development system and then transport them. If you use multiple clients, you should note that the organisation levels and the proposed permissions are client-independent data, whereas the roles and profiles in question are client-dependent. If you are using more than one client, you must also run the PFCG_ORGFIELD_ROLES report in the other mandates to determine the roles that the new organisation level will contain. With the help of this report, you must then rearrange all the roles listed in the Status column: Orgebene in Role are indicated in red. You can select these roles and then use the Reduce in Roles button to adjust them to the new organisation level.

Authorizations can also be assigned via "Shortcut for SAP systems".

You can adjust these evaluation methods in the table T77AW or in the transaction OOAW.

The freeware Scribble Papers puts an end to the confusing paper chaos. The tool is also suitable for storing, structuring and quickly finding text documents and text snippets of all kinds in addition to notes.

A general grant of permissions, such as for the SE16 or SA38 transaction, is not recommended.
