Evaluate Permission Traces across Application Servers
Implementing the authorization concept in the FIORI interface
Upgrades also require that the eligibility roles be revised. In this context, you can use the SAP_NEW profile for support. During an upgrade, changes and enhancements to permissions checks are included in SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP. In order for users to continue to perform their previous actions in the SAP system as usual, you as the permission administrator must revise or add to the authorisation expressions within the framework of the established permission concept. Basically, you use the transaction SU25 for this purpose. For the transition period, you can use the SAP_NEW permission until the permission concept is up to date on the new release. Since the handling of SAP_NEW is not always transparent and the question arises, for example, when the profile should be assigned and when not, we explain the background here.

Configuration validation gives you an overview of the homogeneity of your system landscape. Typical criteria are operating system versions, kernel patch levels, and the status of specific transport jobs or security settings. The following security settings can be monitored using configuration validation: Gateway settings, profile parameters, security notes, permissions. As part of the comparison, you can define rules that determine whether the configuration is rule-compliant or not. If the configuration meets the defined values in the rule, it will be assigned Conform status. You can then evaluate this status through reporting.
Security within the development system
Organisation levels ensure more efficient maintenance of the eligibility roles. You maintain them once in the transaction PFCG via the button Origen. The values for each entry in this field are entered in the permissions of the role. This means that you can only enter the same values for the organisation level field within a role. If you change the values of the individual fields in the authorization objects independently of the overarching care, you will receive a warning message that you will no longer be able to change this field by clicking the Ormits button and that this individual value will be overwritten when you adjust derived roles. Therefore, we strongly advise you not to carry out individual maintenance of the organisation level fields. If you adhere to this advice, as described above, there can always be only one value range for an organisation level field. For example, the combination of displaying all posting circuits and changing a single posting circle within a role cannot be implemented. Of course, this has implications if you want to upgrade a field to the organisation level. A field that has not previously served as an organisational level can include such entries with different values within a role. You must clean up these entries before you declare a field as an organisation level. In addition, the definition of a field as an organisational level also affects the proposed permissions values of the profile generator.

In Step 2b (Customised Proposal Values), you must manually adjust the entries that you manually changed in the SU24 transaction in the initial release. This will start the SU24 transaction in upgrade mode, and you can step by step through all applications and match the changes. If you have created custom organisational levels (ormits), you must restore them at this point using the PFCG_ORGFIELD_UPGRADE report. The report must be called for each organisational level. Only the organisation levels that you create are displayed through the Value Help. SAP Note 727536 lists questions and answers about the use of customer-specific organisational levels.

The possibility of assigning authorizations during the go-live can be additionally secured by using "Shortcut for SAP systems".

The freeware Scribble Papers is a "note box" in which all kinds of data can be stored. It takes in typed texts as well as graphics and entire documents. The data is then organised in folders and pages.

In the example shown in the above figure, users of the BP-NRW Verifier Group would be left without comment when calling the vendor list for the period 01.01.2010 to 31.12.2014.
